Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in Security or Building Maintenance.
• Experience in office management and staff supervision.
• F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm System required within 6 months.

Position Overview:

S:US is seeking a Shift Supervisor for our adult families' shelter in Manhattan.

This position is located at East 31 Street, New York, NY 10016.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise staff, including conducting ongoing meetings, building inspections, providing feedback, managing work schedules, and coordinating training.
• May need to fulfill duties of residential aides and custodial personnel in their absence.
• Establish and maintain appropriate staff/client boundaries and direct clients to the appropriate staff or department.
• Communicate incidents and client interactions with relevant management staff.
• Assist with new family arrivals, apartment turnovers, intakes, and program orientation.
• Handle move outs, curfew violations, and new residents, including completing intakes.
• Adhere to on-call system for crisis intervention and emergencies.
• Work hours include weekends and evenings, with additional shifts as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Security or Building Maintenance.
• Ability to provide crisis intervention with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience in office management and staff supervision.
• Experience working in large residential or institutional settings with a population that has special needs.
• Strong writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm System required within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications:

• NYS Driver’s License.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
