Job summary

Beverly Farm Foundation in Godfrey, IL is seeking a supervisor to oversee active treatment when residents are in the cottage. You will ensure DSP staff follow prescribed procedures, manage schedules, and support safety and documentation across shifts.

The role requires 18+ and at least a high school education, with training, good health, and willingness to learn. This is a full-time position with benefits and a focus on resident safety and quality care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Supervise active treatment when residents are in the cottage and ensure staff follow the ISP and schedules.

  • Monitor staff coverage and reassign shifts to maintain minimum cottage staffing.
  • Complete logs, walk-throughs and required documentation with on-coming and off-going supervisors.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for supervising active treatment at all times when residents are in the cottage by ensuring that DSP follows all procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Arrange if needed & ensure adequate transportation of residents on and off grounds.
  • Supervise active treatment at all times when residents are in the cottage by ensuring that DSP follows the ISP and schedules.
  • Organize meal time, supervise family style dining, direct meal service in coordination with dietary servers.
  • Check 100% of the residents as they leave the cottage for a clean, neat and appropriate appearance.
  • Arrange for shift coverage by reassigning, pulling or mandatory staff, when DSP calls off or does not show for the next shift. Maintain minimum cottage staffing numbers.
  • Initial time sheets for DSP starting the next shift and for DSP ending the previous shift when necessary. Assist and retrain on time clock issues as needed.
  • Coordinate emergency drills, complete the necessary report and give it to maintenance by the end of the shift. Ensure client safety in event of time of emergency. Ensure 911 has been notified in an emergency.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety within the cottage, by assisting, directing and monitoring the workforce. Complete QA of job assignment to staff.
  • Upon arrival to the cottage, review the Communication Log, complete and sign the "walk-through" with the off going supervisor. When leaving duty, complete documentation in the Communication Log, complete and sign the "walk-through" with the on-coming supervisor. Complete all staff assignments including duties, meals, breaks, activities, doctor appointments, etc.
  • Assist with training current and new staff.
  • Oversee, compliance with the code of conduct. Issue verbal consultations, retraining, discipline and/or directive to clock out and leave as indicated. Notify HR, AOD, or QIDP for assistance if needed. Reassign staff as needed to minimize conflicts.
  • Monitor shift documentation and resident changes. Notify nursing and/or QIDP of concerns or changes. Direct staff as needed to complete documentation duties. (paper and/or computer input)

Education/Experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must verify at least an 8th grade education and reading comprehension.
  • Good physical health and lifting abilities.
  • Experience preferred, but not necessary.
  • Successful completion of Pre-Employment/On the Job Training Program and competency tests.
Skills Requirements

Abilities Requirements

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Technology Skills:

  • Utilizes computer to accomplish job tasks. Computer literacy essential in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and databases. Knowledge of Outlook or similar program.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, crawl, and reach. Employee will occasionally use mechanical lift, climb stairs and ramps. The employee will frequently and occasionally lift and/or move up to or over 75 pounds. From time to time, employee may be required to work long hours and mandatory overtime. The employee is frequently required to use both hands, push/pull, use sharp objects, and talk. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. On occasion, noise level may be very loud. On occasion the work environment may be cold and hot.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
  • Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear when communicating with employees and using a phone line.
