Job summary

Silfab Solar Inc. in Fort Mill, SC is seeking a Shift Safety Coordinator to support the safety program on the production floor, ensuring safe work practices and timely hazard mitigation across shifts.

You will reinforce OSHA requirements, coordinate safety activities, and serve as the safety resource for supervisors and frontline employees, driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety principles and general safety compliance practices.
• Knowledge of PPE and hazard controls (engineering/administrative controls).
• Ability to observe work, identify hazards, and communicate corrective actions clearly.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine safety walkthroughs each shift to identify hazards and unsafe behaviors.
• Support supervisors in maintaining safe production processes and housekeeping.
• Respond to safety concerns, near misses, and incidents with timely corrective actions.
• Escalate urgent hazards & coordinate interim controls to protect employees.
• Assist with pre-start safety checks (PPE readiness, LOTO awareness, machine guarding visibility).
• Ensure documentation and training are current for assigned areas.
• Assist incident/near-miss documentation, root-cause analysis, and action tracking.
• Lead/assist toolbox talks and training refreshers.
• Promote safe procedures and standard work instructions for common tasks.
• Maintain organized safety records for the shift (logs, reports, checklists).
• Monitor adherence to safety processes and reporting procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings and action-plan implementation.
• Identify repeat issues and recommend process improvements to reduce risk.
• Foster a safety-first culture and encourage hazard reporting.
