Shift Production Supervisor — Lean Manufacturing Leader

Job summary

Vista, a Cimpress company, is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead production floors in a high-volume printing/manufacturing environment. You will manage staff scheduling, safety, quality, and performance metrics while ensuring adherence to SOPs and 5S standards.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to continuously improve production metrics, mentor both permanent and temporary staff, and escalate issues to leadership as needed.

Qualifications

• High School GED or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership role as a Supervisor/Team Leader in a manufacturing environment with more than 30 direct reports.
• Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing both permanent and temporary team members.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced production environment; knowledge of high-volume production machinery and systems; printing experience a plus.
• Strong safety background with OSHA requirements in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with inventory management processes and SAP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead production shifts and coach staff to meet performance targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve metrics, remove roadblocks, and optimize equipment performance.
• Plan and manage shift duties including training, scheduling, time off, overtime, coaching, and replacements with Shift Coordinators.
• Assist with shift planning, downtime management, root cause analysis (5 why), safe shutdowns, and building security.
• Ensure SOPs/work instructions are followed and quality control throughout the shift within specifications.
• Maintain 5S standards and coordinate with management to meet daily 5S requirements.
• Review shift data to make operational adjustments to meet metrics.
• Engage with direct supervisor and senior leaders on roadblocks and improvement ideas.
• Conduct quarterly one-on-ones with direct reports for goal planning and feedback.
• Ensure adherence to Vista's Code of Conduct and HR policies; escalate concerns as needed.
• Uphold safety culture with regular inspections and prompt reporting of health concerns or infractions.
• Understand supervisor impact on company culture; foster positive safety and operation culture aligned with customer expectations.
