Job summary

Precision Castparts seeks an operations supervisor to lead hourly production teams in Portland. You will ensure safe, compliant manufacturing that meets quality specs and minimizes scrap or rework while aligning with customer requirements.

You will train staff, manage shift operations, monitor budgeted hours, and drive continuous improvement in productivity, safety, and morale. Strong communication and problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with college-level courses in manufacturing accounting, mathematics and statistics.
• Two to five years’ experience in related production operations with ability to facilitate team problem solving and communicate well in writing.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to process control procedures, operating instructions and quality control instructions to safely manufacture quality products.
• Ensure safe manufacturing, maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety policies.
• Plan, organize and supervise shift operations to meet production schedules and supervisor guidance.
• Strive to attain target earned hours and meet or exceed budget criteria.
• Develop and train employees to improve department efficiency, productivity, quality and morale.
• Ensure safe practices and good housekeeping; verify proper training for all safety procedures.
• Maintain adequate staffing to meet production schedules.
• Resolve grievances, provide feedback, conduct performance appraisals, and recommend pay changes, transfers and promotions in line with laws.
• Interview and hire qualified personnel per state/federal laws.
• Ensure availability of equipment and supplies to complete tasks.
