Job summary

ofi North America (Olam Food Ingredients) is seeking a Plant Shift Supervisor in Hughson, CA. You will directly supervise the designated shift, plan and direct workflow, appraise performance, and enforce safety policies.

This role supports plant goals, continuous improvement initiatives, and manufacturing strategies across the facility. The position requires 5 years of manufacturing management, strong leadership, and the ability to work all shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Five years manufacturing management experience required; almond manufacturing preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree may substitute with two years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Bilingual, English and Spanish, recommended; English required.
• Ability to work in teams and collaborate across functions.
• Must be available to work all shifts and weekends as required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management skills for on-time project delivery.
• Knowledge of GMPs and food safety/HACCP principles.
• Desire for continuous process improvement and cost reduction.
• Ability to manage employees and resolve personnel issues professionally.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical issues.
• Knowledge of almond processing (sorting, sizing, packaging).

Responsibilities

• Achieve results by managing in an effective and efficient manner.
• Confer with management on training needs of operations personnel.
• Analyze and resolve work problems or assist shift employees in solving work problems.
• Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.
• Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments of machines.
• Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
• Review time and production records.
• Perform activities of workers supervised.
• Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations.
• Adhere to safe work practices and comply with all company, federal and state rules and regulations (Right to Know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, etc.).
• Reconcile timecards and work with schedules for appropriate staffing.
• Anticipate and troubleshoot production and quality issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
