Job summary

United States Sugar Corp is seeking a Shift Operations Manager to supervise the refining process from raw sugar to finished product across one of four shifts at our Port Wentworth plant. You will ensure production targets, quality, and regulatory compliance while protecting the safety of all on site.

The role requires a strong engineering background, 10 years of food-processing experience (sugar preferred), and supervisory leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED equivalency.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 10 years of related experience in Food Processing (Sugar preferred).
• Hands-on floor experience.
• Two or more years of Supervisory/Leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Six Sigma training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise refining of raw sugar into food grade product on shift.
• Maintain projected production levels and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety and health regulations.
• Direct operators, set priorities and troubleshoot process problems.
• Review process data to optimize yield and throughput.
• Develop and manage shift work schedules.
• Assist in budgeting and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Monitor maintenance and ensure timely work orders.
