Job summary

American Sugar Refining, Inc. is seeking an Operations Lead to support the shift supervisor on bulk packet and stick production. You will ensure correct machine setup, material staging, and execution of startup tasks while providing real-time floor leadership across packaging lines.

You will manage safety, quality, and KPI systems, drive output, OEE, and reduce downtime. Flexibility for varied shifts including weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in production line operations and/or maintenance operations.
• Experience supporting multiple packaging lines.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and respond to operational challenges.
• Working knowledge of Redzone KPI systems, PLC-based production reporting systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Forklift certification required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in operational and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift flow across all packaging lines according to production priorities and supervisor direction.
• Serve as the primary operational lead for production execution, safety and quality compliance, and KPI system utilization during the shift.
• Monitor real-time production performance and drive output, OEE, downtime reduction, and shift targets.
• Coordinate startup and shutdown activities and ensure proper material staging and machine setup.
• Assist supervisors with labor allocation, staffing coverage, and workload distribution.
• Train, qualify and coach new and existing employees on performance expectations and safety behaviors.
• Lead shift reporting, downtime tracking, and quality/safety documentation; reinforce accountability.
• Promote food safety, sanitation, GMP, CCP, and continuous improvement to reduce waste.
