Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Shift Monitor to oversee resident safety, assist with meals, and support facility operations at the Hope Center. The role requires strong communication, reliability, and adherence to program rules.

Responsibilities include monitoring residents, performing light maintenance, logging shift reports, and responding to emergencies. A high school diploma and a valid CA driver’s license are required, along with CPR certification and a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to pass a complete and satisfactory background check.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License; able to pass TSA Driving Test and maintain a clean MVR.
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Willing and able to maintain confidential information in accordance with Salvation Army standards.
• Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office with Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the safety and wellbeing of residents.
• Prepares meals for residents and maintains kitchen cleanliness.
• Performs janitorial and light maintenance duties.
• Conducts regular rounds to ensure security and documents issues.
• Responds promptly to emergencies and participates in drills.
• Maintains accurate shift reports and updates forms/rosters.
