Job summary

Steak ’n Shake Joliet is seeking a Shift Manager to lead daily restaurant operations with energy and accountability. This role requires coaching the team for success, delivering fast and accurate service, and upholding cleanliness and food safety standards.

You will be responsible for opening/closing duties, cash handling, and daily reporting while mentoring new staff and maintaining a positive team atmosphere. Requires flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Prior supervisory or restaurant management experience preferred.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• US work authorization is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations with energy and accountability.
• Ensure strong openings and closings by setting the team up for success.
• Motivate and coach team members to deliver fast, friendly service.
• Ensure brand standards for cleanliness, food safety, and quality.
• Handle opening/closing duties and cash deposits; finalize end-of-day reports.
• Communicate clearly with guests and team members; support training and onboarding.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment and adapt as needed.
