Steak ’n Shake McHenry is seeking a Shift Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations with energy, confidence, and accountability. You will lead openings and closings, coach team members, and ensure fast, friendly service while upholding brand standards.

This role requires strong people skills, reliability, and a servant-leadership attitude. The successful candidate will manage deposits, supervise staff, and help train new team members.

Qualifications

• Must have US work authorization.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior supervisory or restaurant management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations with energy, confidence, and accountability.
• Ensure strong openings and closings by setting up the team for success.
• Set the tone for the shift—motivate and coach team members for success.
• Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service that exceeds guest expectations.
• Ensure all brand standards are met - cleanliness, food safety, and quality.
• Handle opening and closing duties, including key-holder responsibilities.
• Count drawers, manage deposits, and finalize end-of-day reports.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members.
• Support training and onboarding of new team members.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment built on trust and respect.
