Description
The Shift Supervisor/Senior Residential Advisor supervises and coordinates residential living operations during the assigned shift.
Note: Must be available to work any shift and day of the week due to a 24/7 operation.
Job Responsibilities
- Control the movement of students between dormitories.
- Track dormitory performance related to incentives and student retention.
- Screen, interview, and recommend hiring of all Residential Advisors (RAs).
- Report to the Residential Living Manager on all residential operations.
- Provide orientation and training to RAs.
- Schedule work, supervise, and evaluate RA performance.
- Maintain accurate dormitory activity logs.
- Follow all non-health standing orders.
- Instruct students in developing residential living skills.
- Ensure student accountability.
- Coordinate building and equipment use.
- Maintain a safe and healthful environment.
- Provide prompt assistance in emergencies and traumatic events, administer first aid if needed.
- Inspect dormitories for cleanliness, safety, and attractiveness.
- Participate in student case conferences.
- Keep records of student development plans.
- Complete reports timely and accurately.
- Maintain student discipline to promote social development, collaborating with other departments.
- Establish rapport with students and provide feedback on employability skills.
- Arrange transportation for students as needed.
- Act as liaison to the Center Director after hours.
- Submit timesheets per policy.
- Assist with student leadership programs.
- Follow the CDSS plan and Code of Conduct daily.
- Work toward performance standards and goals.
- Adhere to property control policies and safety practices.
- Maintain good housekeeping and comply with safety regulations.
- Comply with all relevant guidelines, regulations, and policies.
- Model and uphold the organization's core values and principles.
- Mentor students in career success standards and employability skills.
- Participate in mandated staff training; non-participation may lead to disciplinary action.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills

Experience and Education
- At least two years of supervisory experience in residential or related environments preferred.
- Minimum one year working with youth or related training.
- Associate degree in a human services field or equivalent experience.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid State Driver’s License.
