Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs, Butler Works in Butler, PA, is seeking an Operations Shift Manager for the Steelmaking department. The role oversees a union workforce and coordinates steel heat processing to meet production schedules.

You will contribute to safety analysis, SOP updates, and continuous improvement while maintaining strong communication with team members. The position requires flexibility for rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have supervisory experience in an industrial environment.
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with standard software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct hourly bargaining unit employees.
• Control shop timing and ensure heats meet destination on time.
• Assist in development and update of Job Safety and Health Analysis and SOPs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Cleveland-Cliffs, Butler Works has an immediate need for an Operations Shift Manager at our Steelmaking department.

The Shift Manager is responsible for managing a union workforce and processing steel through the unit.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Supervision and providing work direction to hourly bargaining unit employees.
• Control shop timing, including making sure each steel heat meets its destination on time.
• Assisting in the development, review, and update of Job Safety and Health Analysis and Quality Standard Operating Procedures for the department.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in an industrial or related environment.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Direct experience with steelmaking, melting, refining or casting steel.
• Supervisory experience in a union environment.
