Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Butler Works in Butler, PA is seeking an Operations Shift Manager for the Steelmaking department. You will supervise hourly bargaining unit employees, coordinate shift work, and ensure timely processing of steel through the unit.

Location: Butler, PA

Cleveland-Cliffs, Butler Works has an immediate need for an Operations Shift Manager at our Steelmaking department. The Shift Manager is responsible for managing a union workforce and processing steel through the unit.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Supervision and providing work direction to hourly bargaining unit employees.
• Control shop timing, including making sure each steel heat meets its destination on time.
• Assisting in the development, review, and update of Job Safety and Health Analysis and Quality Standard Operating Procedures for the department.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous supervisory experience in an industrial or related environment.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Direct experience with steelmaking, melting, refining or casting steel.
• Supervisory experience in a union environment.
