Job summary

Jimmy John's is seeking a Shift Manager to lead a fast-paced team at our Tomball, TX location. You will motivate staff during shifts, greet guests with courtesy, and ensure orders meet Jimmy John's quality standards.

You’ll oversee daily operations, train teammates, manage POS transactions, and maintain food safety and inventory controls. The role emphasizes coaching and developing team members, maintaining a positive work environment, and delivering exceptional guest experiences in a Freaky

Jimmy John's Position Summary!

• Lead and motivate team members during assigned shifts to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations.
• Greet guests promptly and courteously while promoting friendly, accurate, and efficient customer service.
• Oversee the preparation and fulfillment of guest orders, ensuring sandwiches and other menu items meet Jimmy John's quality and brand standards.
• Support daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, food preparation, inventory management, and shift readiness.
• Train, coach, and support team members to maintain productivity, teamwork, and exceptional guest experiences.
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems, oversee cash handling procedures, and assist with register reconciliation as assigned.
• Monitor food safety, sanitation, and security procedures to maintain a clean and safe restaurant environment.
• Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory levels, product freshness, and proper food storage procedures.
• Address guest concerns professionally and assist in resolving operational challenges during assigned shifts.
• Delegate daily responsibilities and ensure cleaning, stocking, and operational tasks are completed.
• Work collaboratively with restaurant management to meet service, quality, and operational performance goals.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to attendance, uniforms, food safety, and workplace safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Previous restaurant, customer service, or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Basic math, cash handling, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn and understand Jimmy John's menu items, preparation procedures, and operational standards.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions, and maintain a positive work environment.
• Availability to work various shifts, including daytime, high-volume lunch periods, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on restaurant needs.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn, coach, and support team members.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position operates in a fast-paced restaurant environment and may involve exposure to food preparation equipment, sharp utensils, kitchen hazards, cleaning chemicals, refrigerated areas, and moderate noise levels.

The role requires frequent standing, bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive movements throughout the shift, including the ability to lift 40–60 pounds regularly, with or without reasonable accommodation. Shift Leaders may also be required to enter walk-in refrigerators and freezers with temperatures ranging from approximately 40°F to -10°F, depending on assigned duties.
