Purpose:
The purpose of the Manager I (MGRI) position is to assist Branch management in executing QSR or similar restaurant operations. The MGRI ensures the restaurant is clean, staffed, and operates to high standards, following prescribed policies and procedures for management decisions.
Essential Functions:
- Complete opening, daily, and closing procedures/checklists according to company policies.
- Assist the AGM/GM by supervising daily activities of associates within a restaurant or group of restaurants.
- Participate in hiring processes, provide input on employment decisions, and recommend promotions or terminations.
- Assign tasks, prepare schedules, and ensure coverage for all shifts.
- Ensure associates take mandated rest and meal breaks.
- Maintain cleanliness and visual appeal of display areas.
- Ensure all equipment is operational.
- Operate cash register, handle transactions securely, and follow cash handling policies.
- Monitor compliance with wellness and safety procedures, report concerns, and promote safety awareness.
- Perform health and safety activities as outlined in the Manager’s Guide.
- Place orders, receive goods, and process invoices.
- Maintain current contact information for all associates.
Requirements:
- Ability to work various shifts, including opening, busy periods, and closing.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local health, safety, and sanitation standards, including HACCP protocols.
Reporting and Work Environment:
- This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Typically reports to the General Manager, Director of Operations, or a Multi-Unit Manager.
- Requires a rotating schedule across different days and hours, including weekends and evenings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service experience.
- At least 6 months supervisory or lead experience in a restaurant or kitchen.
- Ability to communicate effectively in instructions, policies, and with customers.
