Job summary

Sonic Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead and manage the drive-in's operations and employees during assigned shifts. The role reports to the General Manager/Operating Partner and is nonexempt.

You will train and supervise staff, manage staffing, handle guest and employee issues, ensure compliance with laws and policies, perform opening/closing duties, and maintain records while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

• At least six months of restaurant management experience or one year of retail management experience.
• Experience running a restaurant shift without supervision.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws (e.g., wage and hour laws).
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety laws and regulations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, multi-tasking, leadership, and time-management abilities.
• Basic computer, math, and reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Train, manage, direct, coach, lead, and assign drive-in employees during shift.
• Lead and manage drive-in operations during shift to provide an optimal guest experience.
• Manage staffing levels during shift.
• Perform opening and/or closing duties.
• Handle guest issues/concerns during shift and elevate as needed.
• Handle employee issues/concerns during shift and elevate as needed.
• Monitor and manage food, labor, paper, and inventory to maximize cost-control and efficiency.
• Assist with preparation and maintenance of drive-in records.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards and enforce them.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Perform all station duties as necessary during shift to meet standards.
• Conduct regular cleaning and sanitation tasks.
• Maintain regular attendance.
