Job summary

A Shift Leader is responsible for the overall shift operations, guest experience, and sales performance in the store, ensuring brand excellence during each shift. In the absence of the manager, the leader guides the team to uphold service standards and operating policies.

The role includes daily line duties, staff coaching, ensuring food safety, and driving guest satisfaction and in-store promotions.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts, including assigning tasks (cleaning, line duties, opening/closing duties).
• Use the huddle board to position the team and ensure policy compliance.
• Ensure security procedures and cash handling are followed.
• Lead opening/closing transitions and guest service excellence.
• Resolve guest complaints and maintain high guest satisfaction.
• Promote sales through in-store promotions and suggestive selling.
• Maintain food safety requirements and control waste, labor and costs.

As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for the overall shift operations, guest experience, sales performance, and execution of brand excellence in a store. In the absence of the manager, the shift leader effectively leads the team to execute great guest service and follows operating policies and procedures.

The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned from time to time or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands so please discuss the job responsibilities with the Owner and/or his/her designee. He/She/They will review the essential job functions, which are normally defined as the fundamental activities conducted on a daily or regular basis that will affect the success of the restaurant.

• Lead team members on shifts, including assigning tasks (cleaning, line duties, opening/closing duties), providing feedback and training
• Utilize the huddle board to effectively position the teamKnow and support appropriate personnel policies, labor laws and safety procedures
• Ensure all security procedures are executed (safe procedures, open/close procedures etc.)
• Transition into opening/closing duties
• Make guests really happy by providing great guest service
• Resolve guest complaints/issues
• Lead team members to open, transition, and close shifts
• Manage and organize the line and delegate duties to team members
• Know and uphold standards for product quality
• Work the line as needed
• Promote sales on the shift through suggestive selling and knowledge on in-store promotions
• Execute and support all food safety requirements and practice
• Control food costs, labor, waste, and cash on the shift
• Count drawers and follow proper daily cash handling procedures
• Complete additional e-learning as required
