Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager to lead daily restaurant operations. You will focus on delivering excellent guest experiences, ensuring food quality, keeping the restaurant clean and functional, and supervising staff during shifts. You will also handle inventory, training, and paperwork as needed.

The role includes training Sandwich Artists, scheduling, and maintaining equipment, with opportunities to advance in a dynamic food-service environment. Full-time/part-time shifts vary by location.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
• Minimum 1 year of restaurant experience.
• Ability to operate a POS system and perform basic paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent guest experience.
• Schedule and supervise staff.
• Assist with inventory control and keep the restaurant clean and functional.
• Ensure equipment is in proper working order during shifts.
• Complete required paperwork.

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical

Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
