Job summary

Westminster Cracker Company, a long-standing Vermont food manufacturer, seeks a Maintenance Technician to support ovens, mixers, and packaging lines. A five-person crew delivers preventive maintenance and on-call coverage across second and third shifts.

The role requires safe tool use, ability to read drawings and procedures, and a strong safety mindset. Level II may lead training and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical maintenance training or 1+ year industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely; read procedures, checklists, and equipment drawings.
• Commitment to safety: stop work if unsafe; follow lockout/tagout and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance including inspection, lubrication, adjustment, and part replacement; log in maintenance system.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical failures on production and packaging equipment.
• Respond to production calls and communicate expected restoration time to Production Supervisor.
