Job summary

Jefferson Regional Main Hospital in Pine Bluff, AR is seeking a Shift Leader - Security to oversee the security operations during the assigned shift, ensuring the safety of staff, patients, visitors and property. The role provides leadership and direction to the security team, coordinating responses across the hospital.

The candidate should have a High School diploma or equivalent, an associate degree preferred, BLS/CPR, and at least 2 years in a security role; hospital security and leadership

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred; must obtain within 2 years.
• BLS/CPR required upon hire or within 30 days.
• This is a safety sensitive position.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a security department.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency with surveillance cameras, access control systems, and communication equipment.
• Preferred: hospital security department experience; management or leadership experience.

• Variable hours. Security is here 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
• This position is based within Jefferson Regional Security Department

Job Summary:

The Shift Leader of the Security Department is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all security operations during their assigned shift. They ensure the safety and security of hospital staff, patients, visitors, and property, as well as ensuring compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and emergency procedures. The Shift Leader acts as a point of contact for all security staff on their shift and provides leadership, guidance, and support to ensure an effective security presence throughout the hospital.

Shift Leader Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or other related field preferred. Must obtain a degree in related subject within the first 2 years.
• BLS/CPR required upon hire or obtained within first 30 days of hire.
• This is a safety sensitive position. *
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a security department
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure
• Strong knowledge of security protocols, safety procedures, and emergency response strategies
