Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Shift Leader to drive operational excellence on every shift, coaching team members to deliver fast, friendly service and consistent quality. You’ll manage workflow, motivate the crew, and partner with the Restaurant Manager to maintain safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.

Lead shift operations, assist with staffing, training, and meeting cost targets while upholding food safety standards and the Whataburger standard.

Qualifications

• Be a strong coach/leader for the team.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication.
• Able to multi-task and manage shifting priorities.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate Family Members — helping new hires ketchup quickly and seasoned pros turn up the heat.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and basic inventory processes.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running like a well‑oiled fryer.
