Job summary

Whataburger is hiring a Shift Leader to drive daily operations at the home restaurant. You will lead shifts, coach Team Members, maintain quality, service, and safety standards while controlling costs and inventory.

This role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and a positive work culture. You’ll work a flexible schedule including overnights and weekends, with growth opportunities across the organization and eligibility for benefits and development programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Be able to meet business needs with open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours, and dependable attendance.
• Ability to stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 55 lbs., and meet physical demands.
• Experience coaching or leading teams with strong customer service and communication.
• ServSafe Food Certification (or ability to obtain during training).

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate Team Members for quick onboarding and growth.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and inventory processes.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
