Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Shift Leader to keep the restaurant running smoothly, driving operational excellence and coaching Team Members to sharpen skills and confidence. You will partner with the Restaurant Manager to build shift-management capability and strengthen the restaurant’s foundation.

Based at your home restaurant, you’ll lead daily operations, uphold safety standards, and help achieve goals related to costs and sales while fostering a positive work culture and serving customers with

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Open availability, including overnights, weekends, holidays.
• Stand for up to 10 hours and lift up to 55 lbs.
• Experience coaching or leading teams; strong customer service and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate Team Members — helping new hires ketchup quickly and seasoned pros turn up the heat.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and basic inventory processes.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running like a well-oiled fryer.
