Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Shift Leader to drive operational excellence and coach Team Members on every shift. You’ll partner with the Restaurant Manager to sharpen leadership, build shift-management capability, and strengthen the restaurant’s operational foundation.

Based at your home restaurant with opportunities to assist at nearby locations, you will guide teams, ensure safety and quality, and contribute to achieving cost and sales goals.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, and variable hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate Team Members to perform effectively.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and inventory processes.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
