Description

Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.

Primary Responsibilities

The following duties represent the majority of the role but are not exhaustive:

1. Adhere to restaurant performance standards, monitor crew activity, regulate workflow, and support labor goals.
2. Resolve guest concerns promptly, document decisions for audits.
3. Meet guest needs by managing food prep, delivery times, order verification, table clearing, and guest greetings and farewells.
4. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including glove use, cleanliness, and proper food storage.
5. Ensure crew compliance with uniform and safety guidelines.
6. Perform shift tasks such as cash handling, deposits, and end-of-shift activities.
7. Ensure safety and security of all personnel, guests, and assets.
8. Complete administrative tasks as assigned, such as scheduling and inventory.
9. Assist in training and developing crew members.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent communication, leadership, and guest service skills.
• Teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• Operational knowledge of procedures and safety regulations.
• Comfort with workplace technology and basic math skills.
• Ability to manage and correct crew performance.

Experience/Education & Certifications

• Must pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test.
• Possibly require Food Handler’s permit, Foodservice Sanitation Certification, or other permits based on local laws.
• Preferred valid driver’s license with insurance, meeting company standards.

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert force up to 50 pounds occasionally, and perform tasks standing, walking, and other physical activities.

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoor environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and water.

Tools and Equipment

• Includes cash registers, ovens, calculators, and other kitchen and office tools.
