Description
Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.
Primary Responsibilities
The following duties represent the majority of the role, but are not exhaustive:
- Adhere to restaurant performance standards, manage workflow, reassign crew as needed, and support labor goals.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly, document decisions for audits.
- Meet guest needs, including food prep, order accuracy, timely table service, and guest engagement.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including proper glove use, cleanliness, and proper food storage.
- Ensure crew adherence to uniform and safety guidelines.
- Perform shift tasks such as cash outs, deposits, and end-of-shift activities.
- Ensure safety and security of all during the shift.
- Handle administrative tasks like scheduling, ordering, inventory, and documentation.
- Assist in training and developing crew members.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication, leadership, and guest service skills.
- Teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of operational procedures and safety regulations.
- Comfort with workplace technology and basic math skills.
- Ability to manage and correct crew performance.
Experience/Education & Certifications:
- Must pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test.
- May require a Food Handler’s permit or similar certifications.
- Preferred valid driver’s license with insurance, and a good driving record.
Physical Demands
- Ability to exert force up to 50 pounds, perform standing work, and sustain long shifts.
Working Conditions
- Primarily indoor environment with exposure to temperature changes and occasional extreme heat.
