Description

Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.

Primary Responsibilities

The following duties represent the majority of the role, but are not exhaustive:

• Adhere to restaurant performance standards, manage workflow, reassign crew as needed, and support labor goals.
• Resolve guest concerns promptly, document decisions for audits.
• Meet guest needs, including food prep, order accuracy, timely table service, and guest engagement.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including proper glove use, cleanliness, and proper food storage.
• Ensure crew adherence to uniform and safety guidelines.
• Perform shift tasks such as cash outs, deposits, and end-of-shift activities.
• Ensure safety and security of all during the shift.
• Handle administrative tasks like scheduling, ordering, inventory, and documentation.
• Assist in training and developing crew members.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent communication, leadership, and guest service skills.
• Teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of operational procedures and safety regulations.
• Comfort with workplace technology and basic math skills.
• Ability to manage and correct crew performance.

Experience/Education & Certifications:

• Must pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test.
• May require a Food Handler’s permit or similar certifications.
• Preferred valid driver’s license with insurance, and a good driving record.

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert force up to 50 pounds, perform standing work, and sustain long shifts.

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoor environment with exposure to temperature changes and occasional extreme heat.
