A Shift Leader is responsible for supporting the management team in the execution of running their assigned location. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Coaching the staff to deliver amazing customer service
  • Producing high-quality food
  • Delivering the Jersey Mike's experience
  • Following the Learning Management System Training Program
  • Developing others for career growth
  • Enforcing policies and procedures
  • Participating in local and national marketing initiatives
  • Maintaining cleanliness and proper sanitation practices in the establishment
  • Being certified in all four positions of the restaurant
  • Effective communication
  • Having a sense of urgency
A Shift Leader is expected to
  • Move or transport up to 50 lbs without assistance unless a medical notation is made; disabilities are covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act or a temporary doctor's note with a time frame for restrictions
  • Work 38-40 hours per week
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Communicate with the GM/AGM/DM regarding issues
  • Lead by example in quality, interaction, customer service, and appearance
  • Create food consistent with Jersey Mikes standards
  • Maintain a cleaner restaurant than others
  • Work in a fast-paced, team-driven atmosphere
  • Multitask and work with urgency
  • Interface with customers to provide an exceptional experience
  • Understand accountability and integrity
  • Perform opening and closing tasks
  • Know how to bake bread and perform all prep work
  • Manage and lead a crew of 2 to 5 people
  • Proficient in slicing
Qualifications for the job
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year QSR experience preferred
  • Must be 18+ to operate the slicer
  • Serve Safe Food Handler Certification
  • Reliable transportation required
