Job Summary

The Shift Leader (SL) is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day store operations. The SL is a key partner in meeting performance and profit goals. In partnership with the Store Manager, the SL is responsible for customer and employee satisfaction, brand standards, and store profitability. The SL ensures exceptional customer experiences and supports our vision of being "Fast, Fresh & Friendly".

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards for food quality, customer service, food safety, and store cleanliness by empowering store employees.
  • Supervise daily tasks of all store employees.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including greeting, assisting, suggest selling, and thanking customers.
  • Ensure a positive shopping experience, respond to complaints, and lead by example.
  • Oversee food service procedures, sanitation, and daily operations.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and developing staff.
  • Motivate and challenge Customer Service Representatives.
  • Lead by example to complete daily tasks and delegate appropriately.
  • Ensure store is clean, stocked, organized, and displays are attractive and safe.
  • Complete paperwork and computer entries timely.
  • Maintain shift duty notebook accurately.
  • Follow safety, security, and retail policies.
  • Monitor competition and influence profit and loss.
  • Implement company strategies for growth.
  • Plan work schedules and coordinate assignments.
  • Handle special projects and support management as needed.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Successful completion of store training.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong food service experience, ideally in a managerial role.
  • ServSafe certification preferred or to be completed within 2 months of hire.
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ethical, honest, respectful, supportive, and patient.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, and independently if required.
Working Conditions
  • Retail environment with potential exposure to dust, extreme temperatures, and cleaning products.
  • Majority of shift spent standing, with frequent bending and lifting.
  • May assist with store operations during inclement weather.
