Job summary

El Pollo Loco is seeking a motivated Shift Leader to oversee daily restaurant operations, coach crewmembers and ensure outstanding guest service. You will open/close the store, manage schedules, handle cash, and escalate issues to the manager as needed.

The role emphasizes team leadership, top-notch communication, and the ability to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency across shifts while meeting cost and guest satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience leading a team preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Crew in the absence of the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Coaches, directs, and prioritizes tasks for crew members during shifts.
• Trains crewmembers on policies, food safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Open and/or close the restaurant and manage daily cash handling.
• Create and maintain a shift schedule and monitor team performance.
• Address customer issues and disputes and report to management.

Trains Crewmembers on policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with food safety, security, quality and cleanliness standards

Contributing to the achievement of cost and profit goalsSupervising employees, assigning duties, and creating a shift schedule.

• Monitoring team performance and ensuring duties are performed efficiently.
• Reporting any issues that arise during the shift to management.
• Managing employee requests and transgressions.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, health, and safety standards.
• Coaching team members and training new staff.
• Opening and closing registers, accounting for the daily intake, and preparing cash deposits.
