The Shift Leader is responsible for assisting the management team in overseeing restaurant operations and personnel during an assigned shift. To ensure company's standards are met according to recipes, procedures, quality, timeliness, and guest care.
Primary Accountabilities
- Supervise employees during scheduled shifts.
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of the restaurant.
- Resolve guest issues effectively.
- Follow all standard operating procedures.
- Build morale through personal and professional growth. Mentor staff to uphold high service standards and foster a positive culture. Support staff development through one-on-one coaching.
- Prepare and serve products from scratch using quality ingredients and proven recipes. Understand and control costs while maintaining product quality.
- Deliver exceptional guest service.
- Achieve financial targets through adherence to systems and standards.
- Monitor business metrics to improve financial performance, focusing on sales, COG, labor, and operating expenses.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Education/Certifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license and insurance required.
- Complete required training, checklists, and quizzes, including annual recertification.
- NRA ServSafe food and alcohol certifications preferred.
Experience:
- 2 years of restaurant or equivalent experience preferred.
Skills/Competencies:
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about the brand and team development.
- Quick learner capable of applying new ideas and concepts.
- Effective communicator with team members, guests, and vendors.
- Excellent guest service, communication, and listening skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Availability to work at least 3 shift leader shifts per period, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of labor laws, health codes, sanitation, safety procedures, and basic computer operations preferred.
