Job summary

Smashburger is hiring for a Front of House/Back of House Shift Leader in Avondale, AZ. You will partner with the GM to lead shifts, oversee restaurant team performance, and coach staff using our training tools.

You will ensure guest satisfaction while maintaining safety and quality standards. The role requires prior supervisory experience, strong leadership, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Restaurant General Manager to lead high-performing shifts and deliver great guest experiences.
• Oversee FOH & BOH performance, fostering a fun, positive, and accountable culture.
• Train, coach, and onboard team members using Opus, LMS, and the 4-step training method.
• Recognize and reward top performance; address gaps with timely coaching.
• Execute daily operations, including checklists, line checks, opening/closing procedures, and cash handling.
• Monitor and improve guest experience metrics (NPS, OSAT).
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and local health regulations.
• Uphold service standards by modeling exceptional hospitality every shift.
• Manage labor, inventory, and food ordering to meet COGS targets and minimize loss.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring:

• Prior Shift Leader or supervisory experience
• Completion (or ability to complete) Train-the-Trainer program within 90 days
• Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
• High attention to detail with solid time management and organization
• Results-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability (nights, weekends, holidays)
• Ability to follow company standards and all regulatory requirements
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs in a high-temperature environment
