Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an experienced Clinical Shift Coordinator RN to lead daily unit operations, coordinate nursing care, and ensure patient safety throughout the shift. The role emphasizes leadership, staff coordination, and adherence to ANA standards and hospital policies.

The Clinical Shift Coordinator will supervise patient care, collaborate with the health team, manage staffing and documentation, and support continuous improvement in service delivery.

Qualifications

• RN with BSN (Illinois) is required.
• 3 years RN experience required.
• Licensed RN in Illinois and BLS certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Telemetry competency and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership by overseeing daily unit operations and care delivery.
• Coordinates staff and patient care to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Maintains documentation of key patient care elements and charges.
• Uses effective service recovery skills to solve problems and address questions promptly.
• Contributes to unit cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
