Job summary

Leisure Living seeks a dedicated Care Specialist to lead shift teams and support resident care in a on-site setting. The role requires CPR/First Aid certification, a high school diploma or GED, and 6 months of related experience.

You will administer medications, review physician orders in eMAR, and collaborate with the care team to uphold safety and quality of care for residents across the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and completion of Care Specialist I and II within 90 days of hire.
• At least 6 months of recent experience as a Care Specialist or equivalent.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to resource for team members and participate in orientation/training.
• Foster a positive work environment and support skill development for care team members.
• Ensure residents are treated with kindness and respect through mentoring and modeling care and service.
• Protect residents from accidents by practicing safe work and lifting habits.
• Be responsible for resident safety in emergencies and assist with schedule coverage as needed.
• Review and provide resident care per resident service plans and respond to calls/alarms promptly.
• Administer medications per physician orders and use eMAR with pharmacy support.
• Conduct departmental reviews and report results to the Director of Resident Care.
• Maintain adequate medication and supply inventory for residents.
