Pay range: $23.43–$33.84 per hour. A sign‑on bonus may be offered for this location for a limited time. Open for a minimum of two weeks or until a sufficient pool of qualified applicants has been received.

Job Overview

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a full‑time Shift Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to deliver exceptional client and pet care in our Charlotte, NC location.

Responsibilities

• Recruit new clients by promoting hospital services, Optimum Wellness Plans, and preventive care.
• Manage client and pet flow to ensure superior client care and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team.
• Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service at all times, including welcoming clients and pets, ensuring comfort, educating about pet health, preparing procedures, and monitoring hospitalized or surgical pets.
• Perform vet‑tech appointments under the direction and supervision of a veterinarian and in compliance with state law.
• Complete required documentation, enter pet information and history, use proper identification, and provide prompt service to incoming clients.
• Distribute prescription items, sell retail products, schedule future appointments, and manage finances with accurate balances and proper opening/closing procedures.
• Serve as the extra eyes, ears, and hands for the veterinarian to maximize quality pet care and productivity.
• Obtain client information, maintain complete medical charts, and ensure safety of pets, clients, and associates through proper restraining techniques and sterile treatment areas.
• Assist with all surgical procedures as applicable and mentor new paraprofessional associates.
• Conduct quality checks of medical records, medication orders, regulatory documents, hospital cleanliness, and timeliness of doctor‑exam room patients.

Leadership Duties

• Assist the Practice Manager in creating an efficient, productive hospital team that meets quality care and service goals.
• Support hospital labor management and participate in selecting, training, and supervising the paraprofessional team.
• Communicate effectively between associates, clients, hospital leadership, and Central Team Support.
• Ensure adherence to Banfield dress, grooming, and safety guidelines.
• Prepare team for scheduled cases, handle case transfers, and triage the treatment board.
• Identify operational bottlenecks, propose solutions, and assist with client resolution decisions and invoice adjustments.
• Address equipment issues, manage inventory, and maintain accurate financial balances.
