Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a Shift Leader to be a hands-on lead on each shift, guiding a fast-paced team to deliver excellent guest experiences. You’ll work closely with crew to cover all positions and ensure operations run smoothly while upholding brand standards.

The role emphasizes leadership by example, team motivation, and training new members, with growth opportunities into higher management. Basic math and POS familiarity are expected on busy shifts.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience.
• Leadership experience preferred and ability to lead by example.
• Food safety certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn’t on site.
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room.
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience.
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best.
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture.
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards.
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports.
