Job summary

Peet’s Coffee in Oakland, CA is seeking a Shift Lead to manage daily shift operations and lead a small team in a fast-paced coffee bar. The role focuses on delivering high-quality coffee and exceptional customer service while maintaining a welcoming environment for both staff and guests.

Ideal candidates show leadership experience, POS handling skills, and availability for a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience leading or directing others.
• 1 year experience with POS/cash handling responsibilities.
• Shift Leads must be available at least three days per week.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Capable of performing physical tasks during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts with focus and clarity, manage task deployment and day-to-day operations.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences through engagement, craftsmanship, and friendly service while keeping the coffeebar clean and welcoming.
• Support a positive team environment through clear communication and accountability.
• Ensure operational excellence with opening/closing routines, cash handling, inventory tasks and visual updates.
• Embrace learning and change, adapt to priorities and keep shifts running smoothly.
