Job summary

Madison Reed is seeking a Shift Lead for its Hair Color Bar in New York. The role is full-time, requires weekend availability, and includes base pay, commissions, and tips. You will help run operations, guide a team, and ensure guest satisfaction from arrival to departure.

You will step in as manager-on-duty, drive monthly sales goals, and maintain high standards of service and product knowledge while supporting recruiting and training as needed.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state where applying is required.
• 1+ year of experience as a colorist behind the chair in a salon environment.
• 1+ year of leadership experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Effective communication, strong problem solving and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop leadership skills to provide top-tier guest experiences aligned with company values.
• Lead by example in sales and service behaviors and resolve guest issues.
• Support front and back of house operations and retail orders.
• Provide consultations and all services on the menu including shampooing, styling and chemical services.
• Step in as manager-on-duty to foster positive teamwork through coaching and feedback.
• Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals and KPIs (retail, services, memberships).
• Ensure store meets merchandising and asset security standards.
• Demonstrate mastery of Madison Reed systems, policies and procedures.
• Coach team members to enhance guest satisfaction and bar performance.
• Stay updated on Madison Reed products and services.
