Overview

Shift Lead is responsible for performing the duties of a Client Services Coordinator or Vet Assistant when not filling in for the Practice Manager or Chief of Staff. The role involves guiding the team to maximize productivity and profitability, ensuring effective communication with all clients and internal stakeholders, and maintaining high standards of client service and quality care.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support hospital leadership in developing an efficient, productive team that provides the highest quality care and service to pets and clients.
• Follow Banfield protocols and practices, focusing the team on practice priorities while building our culture and brand.
• Supervise the team day‑to‑day when called upon, ensuring quality medical care, exceptional client service, associate engagement, and maximum productivity.
• Create an environment in which the team delivers quality, efficient veterinary care and fosters associate engagement and satisfaction.
• Provide professional, efficient client service as a role model, including client education about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care, pet health needs, hospital services, marketing campaigns, and other related information; effectively resolve client issues.
• Assist in scheduling associates to meet client needs, proactively planning time off and continuing‑education scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with all practice policies and procedures, including Banfield dress and grooming guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a minimum of two years of veterinary hospital experience.
• Must be available to work weekend and evening shifts.
• Must be comfortable working in an environment with loud noise and strong smells.
• Must adhere to Banfield’s drug‑free, smoke‑free workplace policies.

Pay Range

$17.57 - $22.45 hourly. The specific rate is determined by experience, skill level, education, and location.
