Responsibilities

• Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start‑ups, required cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Responsible for opening back door of store for deliveries.
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
• Act as a key holder and lead the shift, ensuring accurate inventory counts and proper pricing.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Assist with and coach other team members on the warehouse and vendor ordering process.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register, including scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
• Assist manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and reverse logistics.
• Assist in evaluating and developing displays, completing resets and revisions.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure compliance with the Outdate program.
• Handle basic department pricing, making daily price changes and ensuring proper signage.
• Assist with bookkeeping activities such as cash report, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payment.
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance and store conditions, including requesting repairs.
• Assist in separation and placement of food items and other consumables as per policy.
• Assist at Pharmacy out window as requested and ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Conduct bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
• Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and students by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Share customer service best practices with all team members.

Operations

• Hold store keys to open and close without management as necessary.
• Assist with and coach other team members to work with warehouse and vendor ordering process.
• Assist manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and reverse logistics.
• Assist manager or assistant store manager in evaluating and developing displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts; maintain accuracy of on‑hand quantities.
• Assist in ensuring the Outdate program is followed with team members.
• Responsible for basic department pricing and daily price changes; ensure proper signage.
• Assist with bookkeeping activities such as cash report, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payment.
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition.
• Assist with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies.
• Have working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
• Assist at Pharmacy out window as requested.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Responsible for bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

• Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager.

Communications

• Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members by communicating assigned tasks when store management is not present.
• Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Basic Qualifications

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• Experience with arrest and conviction records is considered.
• Obtains and maintains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
