Base pay range
$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Open and close the store without management, including start‑up of required systems, cash handling, ensuring floor and stockroom are ready, and opening the back door for deliveries.
- Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change to cash registers.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Customer Experience
- Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Share customer‑service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
Operations
- Hold and use store keys to open and close in the absence of management.
- Assist and coach team members with warehouse and vendor ordering processes.
- Ensure all sales are registered on the assigned cash register, documenting scanning errors, price verification, price modifications, voids, etc.
- Assist manager with reviewing order exceptions, reverse logistics and evaluating displays.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts across departments, stockroom and over‑stock locations.
- Support the Outdate program with team members.
- Perform basic department pricing and daily price changes; ensure proper signage.
- Perform bookkeeping activities: cash reports, cash counts, ledgers and bill payment as requested.
- Assist with interior and exterior maintenance, reporting repairs as needed.
- Separate food items, manage product placement, and perform stock rotation.
- Maintain working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Assist at pharmacy out window as requested.
- Comply with state and local laws for regulated products.
- Conduct bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
- Adhere to all company policies and maintain respectful relationships.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
- Attend training and complete requested PPLs.
Communications
- Serve as liaison between management and non‑management team members, communicating tasks when management absent.
- Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
Basic Qualifications
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key‑holder experience.
- Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- Consideration of applicants with arrest and conviction records.
- Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
