Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Promote new menu items and provide recommendations when asked.
  • Assist with opening and closing tasks.

  • Offer ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.

Location: 339 Joseph Gallo Drive, Livingston, CA 95334

Salary Range: $21.00 - $22.50 per hour

Position Summary

The shift leader is an hourly position that provides additional management coverage of operating hours and direct supervision of operations. The role focuses on driving customer service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hospitality, accuracy, building maintenance, product quality, and speed of service. The shift leader performs hands‑on operational work, assists in training employees, responds to guest service needs, and serves as a role model for appropriate skills and behaviors in the restaurant. The shift leader may assume full responsibility for closing the restaurant and, on occasion, opening it when other management is unavailable. The shift leader ensures food is served safely, maintains consistent customer satisfaction, provides a great workplace for the team, and operates each shift to the restaurant’s standard.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet customers with a friendly demeanor and accurately take their orders.
  • Prepare and package food and drink products according to restaurant standards.
  • Operate cash registers, process payments, and provide change to guests.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant, including back‑of‑house, lobby, and restrooms.
  • Assist with food prep and dishwashing as needed.
  • Restock inventory and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and policies.
  • Promote new menu items and provide recommendations when asked.
  • Assist with opening and closing tasks.
  • Manage shifts to ensure fair employee treatment and compliance with workplace laws and regulations.
  • Offer ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Assist with any safety concerns in the workplace.
  • Report any serious issues to the manager and HR as needed.
  • Conduct food safety and prep audits daily.
  • Conduct daily inventory monitoring and share responsibility for cash procedures.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Strong preference for an internal promotion who has completed all required learning zone training and certifications.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Possess a minimum of 6 months in a shift management or supervisory role, preferably in a service‑related business.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly with a can‑do attitude.
  • Come to work with good hygiene.
  • Has reliable transportation and can arrive to work on time.
  • A positive, friendly, and courteous attitude.
