Job summary

S&G Stores is seeking a Shift Lead who serves as direct support to the store manager, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with applicable laws and Company policies. You will supervise staff and work closely with the Store Manager to maximize sales while protecting assets.

The role focuses on providing outstanding customer service, maintaining a clean store, accurately handling cash and card transactions, and executing merchandising programs to drive sales.

Qualifications

• Retail experience and customer service experience required.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Stand for an entire shift and perform physical tasks when needed.
• Comfortable working in intermittent temperatures (inside, outside, cooler).
• Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and busy periods/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service leadership to all customers.
• Acknowledge/Greet all customers that come into the store.
• Ensure that all company policies are being followed.
• Promote and maintain a clean and organized store appearance inside and out.
• Efficiently process both cash and card transactions with integrity.
• Ensure all merchandising and marketing programs are implemented properly. Including maintaining plan‑ogram integrity and appropriate sign placement.
• Ensure foodservice products are fresh and appealing by rotating products appropriately and removing out‑of‑date products.
• Monitor store activities to ensure that transactions are taking place in the proper manner.
• Respond quickly to all emergencies for the safety and security of customers and employees and notifying the appropriate individuals.

Requirements

• Retail Experience / Customer Service Experience Required.
• Able to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
• Able to frequently lift objects up to 10 pounds.
• Able to stand for an entire shift.
• Ability to periodically handle routine physical task such as climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and/or pulling.
• Comfortable working in intermittent temperatures for short periods of time. e.g., in the store, outside, and in the cooler.
• Available to work carious shifts and days of the week as required by the retail environment, including weekends, evenings, and busy periods/holidays.
