Job summary

Ellison Hotel is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician / Shift Engineer to uphold comfort, safety, and appearance across guestrooms, meeting rooms, and public areas. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond promptly to work orders, and support events while coordinating with the Chief Engineer and management team.

The role requires basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical knowledge, plus strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience (hotel or commercial preferred).
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance in guestrooms, meeting rooms, and public areas.
• Complete minor HVAC preventative maintenance and adjustments.
• Respond to and resolve maintenance work orders promptly with guest service in mind.
• Set up, maintain, and break down meeting and event spaces.
• Maintain exterior areas including pool, parking lot, landscaping, and overall curb appeal.
• Safely use and secure tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Keep maintenance areas, carts, and storage rooms clean and organized.
• Report major repair needs to the Maintenance Manager per hotel procedures.
• Follow all hotel safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Work closely with the Chief Engineer and management team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
