Job summary

Reworld Projects, LLC is seeking a Shift Engineer in Massachusetts to oversee the safe operation of the steam plant on designated shifts. The role offers a clear path into Operations or Facilities leadership within a sustainable waste solutions company.

Candidate must hold a Massachusetts Second Level Engineer's License with a minimum of 3 years supervising or engineering in heavy industrial settings, and be capable of handling high‑pressure boilers and turbines with safety focus.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Second Level Engineer's License is required.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory or engineering experience in heavy industrial, power generation, or resource recovery.
• Hands-on experience with high‑pressure boilers, steam turbines, and electric generating equipment.
• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems in steam plants.
• Able to work rotating shifts; capable of climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs; work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Must wear full-face respirators; work in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor fuel processing system and operate boilers, turbines, and steam plant equipment during shift.
• Ensure safety, environmental permits, and procedural compliance.
• Approve equipment removal for maintenance, issue safety permits, and oversee clearance processes.
• Lead and train shift personnel for a skilled, safety-conscious workforce.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergencies to maintain safe operations.
• Maintain active state and site-required licenses and certifications.
• Participate in projects to improve plant performance and efficiency.
