Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Shift Engineer for The Atlas Hotel in Boston. You will maintain the property's systems and ensure minimal disruption to guests while following safety codes.

This hourly position requires at least one year in a hotel maintenance role, the ability to read blueprints, and strong communication. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade school/College coursework preferred.
• At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field required.
• Must be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical equipment.
• Take required readings on equipment.
• Test cooling tower and record readings.
• Replace and program televisions as needed.
• Replace light switches, receptacles, bulbs and fixtures.
• Perform furniture repair and finish work.
• Repair pumps and plumbing components.
• Understand and read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Trace and repair water lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• Perform and maintain work to local, state and Federal codes.
• Test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of information.
