Job summary

Rehlko is seeking a skilled Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to perform planned and reactive maintenance on generators ranging 20-1500kVA. The role includes a 5 days in 7 shift pattern, mainly midweek, with occasional field support and a company vehicle.

You will diagnose faults, perform breakdown repairs, liaise with Coordinators for scheduling, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. Prior engineering experience and a valid license are essential.

Qualifications

  • Time-served mechanical or electrical engineering background.
  • Experience with generators 20-1500kVA.
  • Ability to perform risk assessments.
  • Previous mechanical engineering experience desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence (6 points max) with towing training if needed.
  • Confident dealing with customers across sectors.
  • Comfortable in person and on the phone.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on generators.
  • Work a 5 days in 7 shift pattern, mainly midweek.
  • Assist other engineers in the field; company vehicle provided.
  • Diagnose faults and perform breakdown repairs.

  • Collect parts from suppliers as required.
  • Maintain records using the company’s management system.

The Role

The Person

  • Previous experience in a mechanical engineering role is highly desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence (maximum of 6 points) – willing to undertake towing training if needed.
  • Confident in dealing with customers from a variety of sectors.
  • Comfortable communicating both in person and over the phone.
