Synthomer plc is hiring a Shift Utility Mechanic for the Jefferson Hills facility near Pittsburgh. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing critical mechanical equipment to sustain continuous chemical plant operations.

Qualifications

• Industrial mechanic or millwright experience in chemical/industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of rotating equipment, mechanical drives, hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Able to read blueprints, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
• Proficient in alignment, rigging, and mechanical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on pumps, compressors, gearboxes, mixers, conveyors, valves, and piping.
• Diagnose mechanical failures using root-cause analysis techniques.
• Repair or replace bearings, seals, couplings, shafts, belts, and alignment-critical components.
• Support equipment start-ups/shutdowns and assist operators to minimize downtime.
