Job summary

Northern Arizona Healthcare is seeking a Charge RN to lead patient care on the unit, under the supervision of the Clinical Manager/Director. The role focuses on advocacy for the shift, leadership of nursing staff, and active participation as a care team member.

Responsibilities include staffing, problem solving for patient status changes, and collaboration with physicians to ensure staffing mix and quality care, while maintaining compliance with ANA standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• RN must graduate from a BSN program within 6 years of hire into an RN position.
• Existing Charge RNs promoted to Charge RN without a BSN must obtain BSN within 6 years of promotion.
• Active AZ RN license, BLS, ACLS and NIHSS required; ongoing clinical competencies maintained.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct patient care activities on the unit during a worked shift.
• Provide leadership to nursing personnel as team leader and preceptor.
• Advocate for patients and communicate shift needs to Clinical Manager/Director.
• Staffing for current and next shifts; assign care teams and resources.
• Ensure safety, documentation, and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Support discharge planning and patient education as appropriate.
