Job summary

Carris Reels, Inc. is seeking reliable individuals to join our West Rutland Assembly Division as Reel Assemblers for Shift 1.

You will build wooden reels for the wire and cable industry in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, standing for long periods and using hand/pneumatic tools. We offer an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, annual profit sharing, comprehensive benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k), and weekly payroll.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow established methods and procedures.
• Read and interpret customer spec cards and maintain production flow.
• Interpersonal and group communication skills are necessary.
• Must be able to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assemble wooden reels using hand and pneumatic tools.
• Follow manufacturing schedules and customer specifications with minimal supervision.
• Maintain clean and safe work area and proper safety practices.
• Report defective materials or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Support team in a fast-paced assembly environment.

Reel Assembler, Shift 1

Shift 1: 7AM-3PM

Hiring minimum is $18 per hour

Carris Reels is seeking quality-minded, dependable individuals to join our talented team of Employee Owners at our West Rutland Assembly Division- which has Support/Prep, Shipping, Tube Making, and Assembly departments. These key positions require working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, assembling wood reels for the wire and cable industry. Long periods of standing, attention to safe practices, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work in a team setting are also required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Follow established methods and procedures necessary to build a wooden reel
• Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and customer specifications with minimum supervision.
• Interpersonal and group communications skills are necessary
• Be familiar with, and use, measuring tools. Must be able to perform simple shop math.
• Build wood reels using hand and pneumatic tools
• Must be able to read and interpret customer spec cards and maintain production flow
• Clean and maintain the work area
• Follow prescribed safety regulations including the use of personal protective equipment
• Report defective materials, or questionable conditions, to the department supervisor
